Moriond
This route takes you to Les Barmettes Hut, and then beyond the ski area boundary into the high mountains.
> Start at Pont de Cavin bridge (600m vertical gain) or Les Fontanettes (400m vertical gain).
Ski touring in the backcountry and mountaineering are high-mountain sport. Both require knowledge of the mountain environment, basic snow science, the local weather, and being equipped with the right safety gear (buy or rent at a sports shop).
Before heading out, we recommend that you ask local professionals (guides and ski patrollers) for advice and information about current conditions, and to let friends, family, or your accommodations know where you plan to go.
Tips :
ESF ski school organizes outings (first time and introduction) as does the Bureau des Guides high-mountain guide service (skill improvement).
To make the first part of your ascent to the surrounding summits just a little bit easier, purchase a Pass’Randonneur (pedestrian pass) to take the ski lifts.
