By train & bus: an eco-friendly choice to reach Pralognan-la-Vanoise
Choosing to travel to Pralognan-la-Vanoise by train or bus means opting for a more environmentally friendly mode of transport. By limiting the use of private cars, you contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, traffic in the valley, and the carbon footprint of your stay, while also preserving the landscapes and biodiversity of the Vanoise National Park.
The Moûtiers–Salins–Brides-les-Bains train station, located 27 km from Pralognan, is served year-round by numerous national and regional trains. Information and reservations are available on the SNCF website or by calling 3635.
From the train station, you can easily reach the village by bus, thanks to a regular service available in both summer and winter. This public transport service provides direct access to the resort without parking hassles and is fully aligned with a sustainable mountain mobility approach.

By train & taxi: a practical and flexible solution
To reach Pralognan-la-Vanoise without a car, you can combine train and taxi, a practical, comfortable and environmentally friendly solution.
- The Moûtiers–Salins–Brides-les-Bains train station is located 27 km from the village and is served by numerous national and regional trains.
- On site, several taxis are available to ensure your transfers to Pralognan-la-Vanoise or for your travels in the valley, even with luggage or mountain equipment.
This train + taxi combination reduces the use of private cars, limits CO₂ emissions and allows you to enjoy a more relaxed journey, without worrying about parking or traffic in the valley.

To reach Pralognan-la-Vanoise:
- A43 motorway to Albertville
- Then the RN90 expressway to Moûtiers–Salins
- Finally, the D915 departmental road for 27 km to the village.

- Winter: from November 1st to March 31st, it is mandatory in the Savoie department to equip your vehicle with winter tires or to have snow chains or snow socks for your safety.
Parking in the village
Village center
Parking in the village centre is regulated all year round and is in a blue zone:
- Maximum duration: 1 hour 30 minutes, subject to the display of a parking disc conforming to European standards. Parking discs are available for purchase at the Tourist Office and the Newsagent for €3.00.
- In winter, parking is prohibited in blue zones from midnight to 8 a.m. to allow for snow removal.
- Parking on the Town Hall Square is prohibited in summer, but permitted in winter, except on Tuesdays and Fridays (market days).
Ibex Parking
Located just steps from the main street and the ski lift departures, the Bouquetin car park offers free parking (maximum 7 days). During the summer, certain restrictions may apply due to events. It is advisable to check before your visit.
Motorhomes
Motorhome parking in the Bouquetin car park is limited to 24 hours, in accordance with municipal regulations, to ensure turnover and everyone’s safety. In summer, motorhomes can also be accommodated at the municipal campsite, which offers suitable pitches for longer stays in the village.
Electric vehicle charging station
To encourage electric and environmentally friendly travel, Pralognan-la-Vanoise provides visitors with several charging stations for electric vehicles.
- A charging station is available in the parking lot of the Hotel Le Grand Bec.
- A second charging station, equipped with two sockets, is located in the Bouquetin parking lot, allowing several vehicles to recharge simultaneously.
These infrastructures facilitate the use of clean vehicles in the valley, helping to reduce CO₂ emissions and preserve air quality as well as the exceptional natural setting of our mountains.
Carpooling: a practical and eco-friendly option
Carpooling is a simple and efficient way to get to Pralognan-la-Vanoise while reducing your carbon footprint. By sharing your vehicle with other travelers:

- You reduce traffic and congestion in the valley, making it easier to move around and park for everyone.
- You save money on fuel and tolls, while making the journey more enjoyable.
To organize your carpooling, you can use specialized platforms or local groups dedicated to visitors of Pralognan-la-Vanoise. This practice fits perfectly into a sustainable and responsible mobility approach.
Regular carpooling within Val Vanoise
Since October 2023, the Val Vanoise Community of Municipalities, along with other inter-municipal bodies in the Tarentaise region, has supported everyday carpooling. These shared journeys provide a mobility solution for people without cars. The environmental impact of these journeys is also reduced.
Trips of 5 kilometers or more in Savoie are free for passengers and compensated for drivers using the BlaBlaCar Daily app. BlaBlaCar pays upfront, and then the Savoie Department and local municipalities reimburse the cost.
Terms and conditions:
- Applies to journeys of 5 to 80 km, made in Savoie (where both origin and destination are in Savoie).
- Driver compensation:
– trips of 5 to 15km: €1.50 per passenger
– trips of 15 to 30km: €1.50 per passenger + €0.10/km beyond 15km up to 30km
– trips over 30km: €3 per passenger - Free for the passenger
