Summer mountain activities for children

In Pralognan-la-Vanoise, there’s a wide range of activities to explore the mountains for all ages . Here are some ideas for guided activities just for children in the summer:

For the little ones, from 3 years old:

• The Croës walk : young mountaineers discover the environment around them, during an easy walk punctuated with games and nursery rhymes.
• Horse or pony rides , riding courses: come and share your passion for horses at the Ranch de l’Ancolie.

From 6 years old:

• Survival Kid : Toddlers gently discover survival techniques in mountain and forest environments.
• Outdoor laser tag : Equipped with an infrared weapon, young audiences compete against each other on a natural forest terrain. Who will win?
• Discover, learn and improve your climbing skills : young climbers benefit from the educational and passionate supervision of the resort’s state-certified guides and instructors, to progress while having fun.

From 12/13 years old:

• The Fraîche Waterfall Ziplines : 6 ziplines to soar above the clear waters of the Fraîche Waterfall. A thrill over 1,700 meters!

• Escape Game : a forest treasure hunt following in the footsteps of smugglers, to find a treasure lost on the old salt and Beaufort cheese route.

• Squirrel Adventure Trail : Enjoy a family adventure in a natural setting, climbing from tree to tree, through a variety of acrobatic and fun activities. The short trail is for ages 8 and up, and the long trail is for ages 12 and up.
• Whitewater sports : board a raft and discover varied and sporty courses, suitable for all ages and levels. Thrills guaranteed! “Baby Raft” for ages 5/6 and up, “Family Discovery Rafting” for ages 8 and up…

Children’s winter mountain activities

In winter, Pralognan-la-Vanoise offers children a wide range of outdoor activities , both fun and sporting , and a variety of indoor games to keep them entertained whatever the weather. Here are some ideas for activities to enjoy with the family in the mountains in winter:

From 2/3 years old:

• Alpine skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing … Pralognan instructors guide young skiers as they discover a variety of skiing techniques, from beginners to advanced skiers. From age 3, in group or private lessons.
• Pony sledding & ski joering : sledding ride pulled by a pony (from 2 years old), or on skis, pulled by a horse (from 3 years old for the first ride and 8 years old for the complete initiation).
• Horse and pony rides : rides, lessons and courses for all ages and levels, from 3 years old (under the supervision of a parent).

From 6 years old:

• Paragliding baptism : With skis on their feet, little adventurers soar over the mountains of Pralognan-la-Vanoise, before landing gently. Tandem flight with Xavier, for ages 5 and up.
• Avalanche Escape Game : The team of budding rescuers learns to detect and rescue avalanche victims… A fun and educational outdoor game, suitable for ages 7 and up.
• Laser Biathlon : A fun and athletic session to improve your skills or learn rifle shooting safely. Group or private lessons are available for ages 8 and up.

To share with family:

• Dog sledding : Wrapped up in the sled, set off for a family outing through the Pralognan forest, pulled by Siberian and Alaskan Huskies. Magical!
• Inuit apprentice : a few steps from the village, the Inuit camp awaits you, to build an igloo with your family (6 years minimum).

Vanoise Sports Center, recreational activities & indoor leisure

The “Le Cristal” sports complex enhances the varied offerings available in the mountains of Pralognan, with a range of recreational and indoor leisure activities:

• Swimming pool equipped with a paddling pool and a slide for children
• Olympic ice rink , with a play area and protected area for toddlers and a curling rink (open in winter)

In winter and summer, the Vanoise sports center allows all generations to fully enjoy family vacations, whatever the weather! In addition, a cinema , a library (with storytelling) and a games library , the Maison du Parc national de la Vanoise , complete the indoor leisure activities offered by the village.

Childcare

So that everyone can fully enjoy their stay in the mountains, Pralognan-la-Vanoise offers different childcare options:

• Kids’ Club : Located in the village center, the Pralognan Kids’ Club welcomes children from 6 months to under 6 years old, for half-days, full days, and weeks. Sunday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in winter and summer. Remember to book in advance!
• UCPA Club : a 5-minute walk from the village, in the heart of nature, the UCPA Pralognan holiday center offers several options for young people: half-day or full-day stays (in summer, for children aged 6 to 11).
